"Unity Marathon" is coming to Gomel!

Tomorrow, October 18, the Unity Marathon will arrive in Gomel. The organizers have prepared a large-scale and diverse program. Three new exhibitions will be added to the Unity Marathon projects in Gomel, BELTA reports.

The Sukhoi Gomel State Technical University will host an exhibition of unique rare posters from the collection of the National Library of Belarus, "With the Quality Mark".

Another interesting project from the National Library is the exhibition "Books as a Gift to the President". The unique collection can be seen at the Skorina Gomel State University.

Director General of the National Library, member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vadim Gigin said that two key expositions were selected for the exhibitions in Gomel from the numerous expositions of the National Library.

“One of them opened relatively recently. This is “Books as a gift to the President” — a unique exhibition collection of books donated to Alexander Grigorievich by heads of other states, governments, public and cultural figures. We have selected about 50 titles that we will exhibit at the Francisk Skaryna Gomel State University. There are absolutely unique books from the collection of the National Library, the Presidential Library, from the collection of the Palace of Independence,” Vadim Gigin noted. He also spoke about the poster exhibition “With the Quality Mark.” “We have declared the Year of Quality, and in our history — Soviet and modern Belarus — there are very bright works of art that motivate our people to work with the power of poster images. We are going to exhibit a selection of such posters at the P. O. Sukhoi Gomel State Technical University,” the director of the National Library noted. Also in Gomel, as part of the "Unity Marathon", there will be an exhibition of the institution "Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War" "Liberation of Belarus. September 1943-1944." It will be located on the basis of the Gomel State Medical University.

These exhibitions will be open on 18 and 19 October.

Traditionally, two BELTA exhibitions will be presented at the "Unity Marathon", which can be viewed on 19 October. One of them - "Belarus. Takeoff" - was first presented in Molodechno. In Gomel, the exhibition will be located in the KRISTALL shopping center from 10:00 to 16:00. Anyone can get acquainted with the history of sovereign Belarus in unique photographs. Another BELTA exhibition "Sovereign Belarus" will be located in the Ice Palace of the State Institution "Hockey Club "Gomel" from 14:00 to 19:00. The photo exhibition presents the achievements of sovereign Belarus in the political, social and economic spheres. In addition, on the first day of the "Marathon" in Gomel, popular Belarusian bloggers and artists will go on an excursion to OAO "Komintern", see how combines are made at "Gomselmash", and learn what makes our forests unique at the Institute of Forestry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. And, of course, they will feel the history of the city in the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble. According to the organizers, eight bloggers with a total audience of approximately 13.8 million people will preliminarily become participants in the "Unity Marathon".

Another interesting project that will take place on October 18 is "NOT boring NOTlecture". Deputy Minister of Education Ekaterina Petrutskaya, journalist and political observer Igor Tur, as well as winners and prize-winners of international vocal competitions Lera Bernatovich and Artem Skorol will come to meet the guys at the Gomel State College of Design and Computer Graphics.

"NOT boring NOTlecture" in the branch of the educational institution "Belarusian State Technological University" "Gomel State Polytechnic College" will be held with the participation of Ekaterina Petrutskaya, Lera Bernatovich and Artem Skorol. Bloggers will also participate in the meeting. The next day of the "Marathon" will begin with the opening of the mural. A stylized outline of the country, on which the inscription "The future of Belarus is in your hands" is applied, will decorate the facade of the house on Lange Street, 5A.

The main site will unfold on October 19 near the Ice Palace. Here, from 12:00, the city quest "This is all my native" will take place.

On the same day, a "Significant meeting" will be held in the format of a media breakfast in the shopping center "KRISTALL". It will be attended by the Minister of Information Marat Markov and journalist, political observer, Igor Tur. The topic of the meeting is "How fakes are created".

The bright end of the "Unity Marathon" in Gomel will be the concert "Time has chosen us". As the organizers reported, People's Artist of Belarus Nikolai Skorikov, the Belarusian State Ensemble "Pesnyary", Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Irina Dorofeeva, the group "Aura", the group Cosa Nostra, the art group "Belarusians", as well as many other artists loved by the public will come to Gomel. According to the organizers, about 200 artists are planned to participate. In addition, the Belarus 3 TV channel will show a TV version of the la concert "Time has chosen us" in Gomel.
